You are cordially invited to my annual
birthday benefit concert on Saturday, March
27th at 8 pm at The Empress Theatre in
Vallejo. I'll be turning 51-years-young! You
bring the candles, I'll bring the cake! The
Empress Theatre will provide the fire insurance.
This year I'm very excited to bring you
Carlos Reyes and the Electrick Symphony.
Carlos plays electric violin and harp and is
described as "Santana meets the Gypsy Kings." The music of Carlos Reyes
is a blend of
flavors from jazz to funk, from classical to
blues. You just never know what Carlos will
pull out of his musical hat!
The first time I saw Carlos play, he drew his
bow across his electric violin and I sat up
in my seat and stopped breathing. I knew I
was in the presence of a musical master. Carlos is one of those
musicians that other
musicians are always telling me is
extraordinary. But, somehow I always missed
seeing him. Well, I finally did see him, and
I must say that all those other musicians are
right!
This Bay Area Paraguayan harp and violin
virtuoso has toured the world, won awards
from the Vatican and played with virtually
every musical star. Ready for
jaw-on-the-floor musical amazement? Carlos
brings it on. It will be a musical evening
you will never forget.
I just got word that my favorite comic,
Johnny Steele, will be opening the show! A veteran of stage and radio,
Johnny Steele
is known for his intense energy and smart
social commentary.
Come see Johnny and you'll see why he is my
favorite comic!
Please join me for an evening of music,
laughter and celebrating getting another year
older. Notice I didn't say one year
smarter....just
older!
A big thank you to Carlos and Johnny for
making my birthday so special.
Rhonda
